Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in the Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. T1012 at Myrtle Beach Resort!: Sandy Shores and Stunning Views has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is right for your group.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great time? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
