Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
How to get the best value:
- The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting and booking the bestrental home:
- First, have your family commit to the best dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Sea View 1st Floor Pool & Hot Tub (By Beach Star) has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property management company before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More tips for your visit:
- Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
