Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- To get the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting the perfect vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Sea View 1st Floor Pool & Hot Tub (By Beach Star) has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property manager before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your family.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or could be applied to your contract.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- During check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to drive more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
