Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Some owners offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and picking your prefect Myrtle Beach rental:
- To start, have your group choose a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Steps to the BEACH! Ocean Annie's 2 Kings has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before reserving your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you love, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
More tips for your visit:
- Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. message the host right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to compel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
