Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect vacation property experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Book your rental in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Selecting and booking your prefect Myrtle Beach rental:

  • To start, have your group select dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Seaside Retreat~ Ocean Front~ Community Pool~ Myrtle Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If not, contact the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • During arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to compel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
