Rental booking tips:
How to get the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Book your Myrtle Beach rental in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby shops and restaurants.
How to select the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by having your family agree to the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Seawatch Resort 616 - Oceanfront has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property manager before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Upon check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
