Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the best vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Finding the best rental home:
- Start by selecting your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Wonderful Upgraded Condo in Myrtle Beach! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you book the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
