Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and picking the best Myrtle Beach rental:
- Choose vacation week and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. SummerSalt ???? Myrtle Beach! Great Rate! 2bd\/2bth Ocean\/Pools\/Grills\/Food\/Music! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property owner before reserving the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Considerations for your stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if damages are assessed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
