How to book the best vacation rental experience:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. SummerSalt ???? Myrtle Beach! Great Rate! 2bd\/2bth Ocean\/Pools\/Grills\/Food\/Music! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the host before you book the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your trip.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to compel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
