Our top Rental booking tips and tricks:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best vacation home within budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking the rightrental:
- Choose vacation dates and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. SummerSalt ???? Myrtle Beach! Great Rate! 2bd\/2bth Ocean\/Pools\/Grills\/Food\/Music! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible online. If not, call the property owner before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your family.
- Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your family is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the property manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
