Our top Rental home booking tips and tricks:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and choosing your prefect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Three-Bedroom Villa has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation family.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges applied to your invoice.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
Some things to know before you go:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many issues.
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Note any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to propel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
