Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:

  • Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have coupons for local accommodations and attractions.

Planning, picking, and booking the best Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Sheraton Broadway Resort
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the host before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • Does your family require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to propel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
