Tips to get the very best vacation home experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain discounts for nearby tours and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- Select your dates and spending budget.
- Two 3BR\/3BA Villas has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If not, email the property management company before you book the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Have a great stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
- At Check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to stimulate new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
