Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have deals for nearby tours and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Sheraton Broadway Resort
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If not, email the property owner before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your trip.
  • Does your family require special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.

Additional considerations:

  • Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • During check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
