Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, picking, and booking the bestrental:
- Choose vacation week and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. 3rd Floor Ocean View, Pools\/Hot Tub- Shore Dr has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
