Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Filter your search:
- Start by having your group select date ranges and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. B140 at Myrtle Beach Resort: Shoreline Bliss: Unwind by the Waves has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.
More considerations for your visit:
- Put the owner's information in your smartphone.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. Speak to the property manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a excellent time? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
