Our top Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
Get the best value:
- To get the best value, consider changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guides have offers and deals for local tours and attractions.
Finding the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. B140 at Myrtle Beach Resort: Shoreline Bliss: Unwind by the Waves has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what is optimal for your vacation.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or might be applied to your agreement.
More tips for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
