Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips and tricks:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to choose and book the best Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 18th floor ocean facing 3BR 3BA beach condo w\/ incredible views! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. If not, call the property management company before you book the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you love, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many issues.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Call the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a great vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
