Tips for getting the best vacation property experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Make a plan and choose a perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Start by having your group select a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. 18th floor ocean facing 3BR 3BA beach condo w\/ incredible views! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your family.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
