Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the most suitable rental home for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting and booking the right Myrtle Beach rental:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Shoreline Hideaway Suite: Family Fun by the Sea has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.
More considerations:
- Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
