Tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

Sticking to a budget:

  • Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the best rental for your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to select the best rental in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Start by having your group decide on a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. T1811 at the Myrtle Beach Resort: Spectacular Coastal Condo has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the host before reserving the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • During check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many issues.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
  • Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to stimulate future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
