Tips to get the best vacation home experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose the best rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Select vacation week and max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. *SNOWBird* Special* 3 Bdr\/1 King Suite, 2 Queen has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before booking the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is best for your vacation.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Tips for your stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of issues.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • During check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to propel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
