Booking the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- To find the best rental within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Filter your rental search:
- Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Oceanfront Condo in Atlantica Resort has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Note any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of issues.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
