Tips to get the perfect rental experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Make a plan and choose yourrental home:
- Start by choosing your vacation dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Soothing Queen Efficiency 11th Floor has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, call the host before you book the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
Considerations for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
- During check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
