Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips:

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby tours and attractions.

How to choose and book a perfectrental:

  • Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Monterey Bay unit 1531 - Ocean Front has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is best for your trip.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Is your group looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Tips for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Record any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to inspire more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
