How to book the best rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • First and foremost, have your family agree to vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Monterey Bay unit 1531 - Ocean Front has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available online. Otherwise, call the property manager before you book the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Tips to have a fantastic stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
