Tricks and tips to get the optimal vacation home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- To get the largest rental within your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by having your group choose date ranges and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Two Bedroom Combo, Ocean View, Luxury Condo, Myrtle Beach, SC (3312394) has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. If not, email or call the property owner before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges applied to your contract.
- Does your family require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the host right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to propel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
