Myrtle Beach rental booking tips:
Cost saving strategies:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Make a plan and choose the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. OCEAN FRONT - 2 bedroom with AMAZING VIEW in DOWNTOWN MYRTLE BEACH!! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you reserve your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your group.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Considerations for your stay:
- Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. E-mail the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
