Tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Finding the best rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by selecting your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Oceanfront 1 Bedroom Condo at Family Friendly Resort has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property management company before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
