Strategies to get the best vacation rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose your dates and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Spectacular and Spacious 7 BR Ocean Lakes House! Steps from the Beach- 1171 has 7 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your trip.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
