Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the largest vacation home within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose the best rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Spectacular and Spacious 7 BR Ocean Lakes House! Steps from the Beach- 1171 has 7 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you love, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Considerations for your stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the property manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
