Vacation rental booking tips:

Cost saving strategies:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to select the best rental:

  • Select a group leader, select your dates, and select a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Surfside Beach. 7 BR 4 BA beach house in Oceanside Village gated community. has 7 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If not, email the property manager before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what is right for your trip.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental

More tips for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of concerns.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the property manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
