Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Selecting and booking the perfectvacation home:

  • Choose your vacation week and budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Studio Apt in Downtown MB has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. If not, contact the host before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your family.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • To make sure that no damages are attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Contact the host right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to drive more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
