Strategies to get the best rental experience:
Finding your best deal:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To book the most suitable rental home within budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
- The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by selecting the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Stunning and Spacious 3 BR Condo-Immaculate Oceanfront Views! Anderson 211 has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is often available online. If they are not listed, contact the host before you book your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
