Tips and Tricks to get the optimal vacation property experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby tours and attractions.
Choosing and booking the right Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Stunning Ocean-Front Views! 3 bedroom bath rental with linens provided. has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property owner before you book your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your trip.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- Upon arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a great time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
