Tips and Tricks to get the optimal rental home experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach rental property in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Planning, picking, and booking your prefectvacation home:

  • Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Pelican's Watch Unit 210 - Ocean view has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property manager before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Advice for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of problems.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
