Tricks and tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Winter Deals! Unwind by the Waves Oceanfront Suite has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your stay:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- During check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
