Tricks and tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to go & When to book:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- To find the best value, try changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Choosing and booking the perfectrental:
- Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Spacious Ocean View Elegance 3 Bdrm Condo 4th Flr has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Have a wonderful stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the host immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
