Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To get the best vacation home for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Make a plan and choose a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. stylish coastal condo with beautiful ocean views! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your vacation group.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you love, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
Tips to have a wonderful stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Call the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
