Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Booking in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your rental search:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Stylish Oceanview Studio has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available online. Otherwise, email the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or applied to your contract.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
Know before you go:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
