Tricks and tips to get the best rental experience:
Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Summer is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To find the most suitable rental home within budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Filter your rental search:
- Choose dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Fall openings! You'll love a Long weekend! LOVELY TIME OF THE YEAR! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before booking the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your contract.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Record any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
