How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the best value:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, , and reduced traffic.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain deals for local shops and restaurants.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. The Taco Shack, relax and enjoy the sun and sand has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges may be applied to your contract.
- Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Have a fantastic stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few problems.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your visit, note any problem areas upon check in. text the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
