Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, change your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Begin by selecting your trip dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Sunny Getaway * 1BR condo close to the beach (A) has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before booking the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what is right for your vacation.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
During your stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many issues.
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the host right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a great stay? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
