Strategies for getting the best rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To find the largest rental within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Filter your rental search:
- First and foremost, have your group choose dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Tranquil 7th Floor Escape: Oceanfront King Suite has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the host before booking the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or may be applied to your invoice.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- Upon check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to compel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
