Our top Rental home booking tips:
How to get the best value:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by selecting your trip dates and a budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. The Green Gable - Colonial Charm close to it all has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what is suitable for your vacation group.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
During your stay:
- Add the host's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a great stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
