Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. The Marina at Grande Resorts 4-1202-2 bedroom and 2 bath has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, email the host before reserving your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is right for your trip.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Upon check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
