Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Get the best rental value:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Some hosts offer special rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain coupons for local tours and attractions.
Finding the perfect vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by having your group commit to trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Coastal Escape: 1BR King Suite @ Wyndham Seawatch has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation family.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
Advice for your stay:
- Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the property manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
