Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips:

When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:

  • The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, consider changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning, picking, and booking a perfectrental home:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. The Marlin at Gulf Stream invites you to relax with an Ocean Breeze. has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before reserving the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your group.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

More tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. Call the property manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to drive new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
