How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- To book the largest rental home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and choosing your prefect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Select your dates and budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Beach Bungalow in Ocean Lakes has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you book your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Upon check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
