Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To book the largest rental home within budget, we suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Some hosts offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and choosing a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Start by having your group decide on trip dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Top Floor, Just Steps to Ocean 2B,2B with Great Views at the Myrtle Beach Resort has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
