Rental property booking tips:
Getting the best value:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your rental in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Some hosts offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and choosing the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose dates and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Top Floor, Just Steps to Ocean 2B,2B with Great Views at the Myrtle Beach Resort has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available online. If not, contact the property owner before booking your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
