Tips to get the perfect rental experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing and booking yourrental:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Thompson Time in Ocean Lakes, 3 Bdr 2 Ba has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the host before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your stay, note any problem areas during arrival. message the property manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
