Tricks and tips to get the best rental home experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, shift your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose your dates and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Thompson Time in Ocean Lakes, 3 Bdr 2 Ba has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property manager before booking the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your family.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Add the host's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your stay, record any problem areas during check in. Speak to the host immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
