Tricks and tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Find your best deal:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is a good way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Make a plan and choose your Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Tranquil Escape 12th Floor 3BR Angle OV Condo has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. If not, call the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
  • Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Make a record of any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
