Comments from a recent guest:

Dear Joe,

Thank you so much for accepting us to rent the Seawatch condo last week. We thoroughly appreciated our time there! The vistas from the unit are excellent, as you promised. The condo is well equipped and the large TV was a additional. It was nice to be able to use my iPod, as well. I have never slept in such a comfortable bed. I am now encouraging (he calls it "nagging"!!) my husband to get a pillowtop bed!

We also adored many local attractions throughout the week such as mini golf, Medieval Times, NASCAR, aquarium, shopping, shopping, shopping. My husband went fishing with a tour group based in Little River, as well. The best part was really spending quality time as a family walking along the beach and picking up shells. Life can be hectic so this "down" time was really
appreciated.

Thank you once again. You are really blessed to have this property as your own.

Sincerely,
TL

Strategies to get the very best rental experience:

When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:

  • Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to select the best vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Start by having your family commit to vacation dates and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Newly Renovated Direct Oceanfront 3BR\/2BA Condo With Large Wrap Around Balcony! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your family.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
