Getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, change your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting and booking yourvacation home:

  • Begin by choosing a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Updated 2 Bedroom Condo- Stunning Intercoastal Waterway Views! Riverwalk 204 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. If not, contact the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
  • At Check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent stay? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
