Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation home experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Choosing the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Updated 2 Bedroom Condo- Stunning Intercoastal Waterway Views! Riverwalk 204 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Call the rental manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
