Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Get the best rental value:
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Updated 2 Bedroom Condo- Stunning Intercoastal Waterway Views! Riverwalk 204 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your vacation group.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- If your family is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
