Rental home booking tips and tricks:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- To find the largest rental within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by choosing your a vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Updated Friendly Condo - Steps to the Beach! Close to Attractions! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. Otherwise, call the host before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your group.
- Does your family require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
Tips for a fantastic stay:
- We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your stay, note any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the property manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
