Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your rental home in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and choose the best Myrtle Beach rental home:
- To start, have your group choose date ranges and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Upscale Luxury Apartment~Palace Resort 2109~ has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available online. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you book the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is best for your trip.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
During your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many difficulties.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to propel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
