Tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the best vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Make a plan and choose the perfectrental:
- First, have your group agree to a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Villa Two Bedroom in a 57 Acre Gated Resort + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the host before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your group.
- If your family is bringing pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you love, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
More tips for your stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
