Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- Book your Myrtle Beach rental home in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, picking, and booking the rightrental:
- Select vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Myrtle Beach, Kingston Plantation, Walk to Beach, 1st Floor, Free Parking has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the host before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your group.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you love, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- During check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
