Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips and tricks:
When to book & When to go:
- Book your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Selecting the perfect vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose dates and spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Myrtle Beach, Kingston Plantation, Walk to Beach, 1st Floor, Free Parking has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. If not, contact the host before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
During your stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- At Check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
