Tricks and tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To get the best value, change your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have discounts for local tours and attractions.
